‘Popeyes meme kid’ Dieunerst Collin cashes in on viral video 10 YEARS after it first emerged as he signs an NIL deal with famous chicken brand… and he’s now all grown up as a D-II college football player with Lake Erie
The ‘Popeyes meme kid’ from a decade ago is now a college athlete – and a business partner of the very establishment he went viral in.
Dieunerst Collin is a 6-foot-1, 330-pound offensive lineman at D-II Erie College.
But in 2013, he was just a nine-year-old kid who delivered a memorable side-eye to the camera as the recorder mistook him for the internet sensation Lil Terrio.
Dieunerst Collin went viral on now-defunct app Vine for his funny reaction in a Popeye’s
The video went viral on now-defunct app Vine but the picture of the moment still lives on today.
Now, according to Front Office Sports, Collin is profiting off his previous fame as Popeyes have signed him to an NIL deal.
Collin lobbied on behalf of the deal for himself, tagging Popeyes and encouraging others to do so too.
Collin won a state championship in 2021 and is now playing college ball for Lake Erie
‘I NEED EVEYONE TO GO TO MY INSTAGRAM @dieunerst REPOST MY RECENT POST AND TAG @Popeyes,’ the New Jersey high school state champion wrote on Twitter.
‘I JUST WANNA TALK.’
Popeyes responded to Collin’s pitch yesterday.
‘Let’s get this bread(ing),’ their official account said.
A native of East Orange, New Jersey, Collin has brought his talents – and recognizable face – to Ohio for the next stage of his career.
