VASCO: In a tragic incident reported on New Year’s Eve, Prakash Madhusudan Khair, a 72-year-old Mumbai native died on the Baina beach. 

Khair along with his from Jogeshwari East, Mumbai had come to the Baina Beach on Saturday and in the afternoon they went for water sports activity where he is suspected to have died due to a heart attack. The incident occurred when Khair with life jacket was swimming when he suddenly complained of uneasiness. The water sports operator immediately responded and brought him to the shore where the lifeguards administered CPR. Both, the water sports operator and lifeguards tried their best to revive the tourist, but in vain. 

As the 108 ambulance could not arrive on time, the family members rushed Khair to the Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim in a private car. But the doctors declared him dead. 

The Mormugao Police later conducted the panchanama and sent the body to the District Hospital, Margao for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
